Portable devices represent 10% of the global Internet traffic

The transition to post-PC era is now a proven fact. For the first time, mobile devices represent over 10 percent of the world traffic in Internet, according to a survey by StatCounter. And that rate is derived without even taking into account tablet devices, such as iPad, which without doubt raise the share of these portable devices.

The survey was conducted after calculations in more than three million websites using the meter of StatCounter, so this is a very good and reliable approximation of the actual results. The Pingdom, even got StatCounter data and analyzed by region and found that India ranks first with portable devices to account for 48.87 percent of Internet traffic in the country.
